Team scheduling, made simple.
Build next week’s schedule in minutes, see time off before it becomes a conflict, and fill open shifts without a dozen texts. Your team gets it all on their phone.
One calm place for the
week ahead
DaySpear covers the schedule and the everyday coordination around it.
Nothing more to learn, nothing extra to pay for.
Build the week fast
Drag shifts, copy last week, and publish once. Time-off requests show up right in the grid.
See the scheduleFill gaps without texting
Open shifts and swaps have a clear status, so you always know what still needs covering.
See coverageYour team, on their phones
Shifts, checklists, announcements and chat in a web app they open from a link.
How it works
Second shop? Same plan.
Add as many locations as you run. People can work at more than one, the schedule filters in a click, and each location gets its own team chat and checklists. We don’t think growing should cost you a surcharge.

Everything around the schedule
The weekly schedule, time off, coverage, team communication and simple checklists—built for small teams with shifts.
Build the week by dragging, not by spreadsheet
See everyone, every role and every location in one grid. Click an empty slot to add a shift, drag to move it, and publish when you’re ready—your team is notified once, not on every edit.
- Hours per person and per day as you build
- Drafts stay private until you publish
- Attach an opening or closing checklist to a shift

LuisSee the conflict before you create it
Pending requests show right on the schedule, so you notice Emma asked for Friday off before you put her on the register. Approve a request and DaySpear offers to turn her shift into an open shift in the same step.
- Pending and approved time off, visible in the grid
- A clear warning if you schedule over a request
- Employees request time off from their phone in seconds
Always know if a shift is still uncovered
When someone can’t make it, they post the shift. Teammates who are free and qualified can offer to take it, and you approve with one tap. Every request has a plain status: needs coverage, offer waiting on you, or covered.
- Only people without a conflict are shown as available
- Each shift has its own short conversation
- Manager approval stays in the loop—optional per team
Announcements
Post once, see who’s read it. Pin the important ones so new hires find them.
Team chat & shift threads
A team channel per location, plus a short thread on any shift—“where are the extra lids?” stays with the shift it belongs to.
Checklists & to-dos
Opening and closing duties that ride along with the shift. Simple to-dos assigned to a person, a shift, or a whole location.

Up and running before your next shift
Set up in an afternoon. Your team joins from a link—no app store, no training session.
Three steps to your first week
Add your team
Invite people by phone number or email. Set their roles and the locations they work at.
Build and publish the week
Start from last week, adjust what changed, check for time-off conflicts, then publish.
Let the team handle the rest
People see their shifts, request time off, and pick up open shifts from their phones. You approve.
Your week, in one place
- Start from last week and adjust what changed.
- Check the flags — pending time off, unavailability and overlaps are marked before you publish.
- Publish once; only people whose shifts changed are notified.
- Approve time off, swaps and pickups from one Requests list—or let pickups auto-approve.
Everything they need, nothing more
- See the next shift, who they’re working with, and its checklist.
- Request time off — a few hours, a day, or several days.
- Pick up open shifts or ask a teammate to swap.
- Keep their availability and notification preferences up to date.
No app store required
DaySpear is a responsive web app. Employees open it from an invite link, and anyone can add it to their home screen. On iPhone, notifications work once DaySpear is added to the Home Screen and notifications are allowed—until then, email or text updates keep people in the loop.

- At a limit, you’ll see the next flat price before adding anyone. No surprise charges, and no one loses access.
More than 75 people?
Let’s talk about what fits your team.Still undecided

Straight answers about how DaySpear works, what it costs, and what it keeps.
Do my employees need to download an app?
No app store needed. DaySpear is a web app: employees open it from a link on any phone or computer. Anyone who likes can add it to their home screen so it opens like an app.
Will we get notifications on our phones?
Yes, with one caveat. On Android and desktop browsers, DaySpear can send notifications once you allow them. On iPhone and iPad, web notifications only work after you add DaySpear to your Home Screen (Share → Add to Home Screen) and allow notifications there. You can also choose email or text for important updates.
What about team members without a smartphone?
Managers can print a clean, black-and-white copy of the published week for each location to hang on the wall. Team members can also get their shifts by text message whenever a new schedule is published, with no app or smartphone needed.
Can coworkers see my phone number?
Not by default. Your manager can see your contact details for scheduling. Coworkers message you inside DaySpear. If your business turns on number sharing, your number still stays hidden until you choose to share it.
Can I swap with a specific person?
Yes. You can offer a shift to anyone who’s eligible, or ask a specific teammate. Your manager approves it—or the team can turn on auto-approval for pickups.
Can I request part of a day off, or a whole week?
Both. Requests can cover a few hours, a single day, or a range of days. Your manager sees them on the schedule while they’re pending.
Does DaySpear replace Slack or our group chat?
Not necessarily. DaySpear keeps shift-related talk, announcements, and a simple team chat next to the schedule. If your team already lives in another chat tool, you can keep using it for everything else.
Is it a project management tool?
No. Tasks and checklists exist to support shifts—opening duties, closing duties, a few to-dos. There are no Gantt charts, sprints, or HR paperwork.
Do multiple locations cost extra?
No. Every example plan includes unlimited locations.
What personal information does DaySpear keep?
Only what scheduling and team communication need: name, photo, contact details, roles, locations, availability and notification preferences. Birthdays are optional, month and day only. No HR records, pay details or ID numbers.
Does it work in dark mode?
Yes. Everyone can choose light, dark, or match their device.
